Description
The European Mountain Ash is a small to medium-sized tree native to northern Europe and Asia and is the most widely planted of all the mountain ash species. It prefers well-drained loamy soils and full sun. The fruit it produces are bright orange-red in colour and appear to be more palatable to birds after they have been subjected to freezing and thawing. European Mountain Ash is often planted as an ornamental and can be seen as a shade tree in residential landscapes. (Source: North Dakota State University )
